The Area Agency on Aging 1-B is a non-profit organization supporting older adults and their families in six counties including Oakland. They offer a critical link for older adults to have the care they need to age safely and with the dignity they deserve. Seniors can receive help at any place they call home: their own home or apartment, an assisted living facility or with family caregivers. A wide range of services include information and assistance, in-home care, Meals on Wheels, Community Dining, transportation, senior center contacts, long term care Ombudsman and assistance for LGBTQ seniors. Gifts from Sanctuary will be used wherever it is needed most, including funds for meals on wheels to seniors when they are alone on holidays.
