Mission Moment
The Parlor 300 Willits St, Birmingham, MI, United StatesBeloved Community Campaign | Embracing Multiculturalism | August Mission Offering For nearly 200 years, American Baptist Home Mission Societies has equipped Christian leaders to serve, heal, and transform communities. American Baptists have a strong heritage of cultural diversity, racial understanding, and inclusion. Continuing that tradition, ABHMS Intercultural Ministries promotes sharing and learning across Asian, Haitian, Latino, and Native American churches, and its Intercultural Leadership Institute trains leaders for culturally diverse ministry. Its mission is “to lift up, heal, and transform the lives of people who are suffering with racism, poverty, trauma, and educational disadvantages.” The Beloved Community Campaign offers programs, grants, scholarships, webinars, and online resources that help ministers and lay leaders serve their communities with cultural responsiveness. Your generosity will support the ABMS mission to demonstrate compassion, understanding, and respect across diverse racial and ethnic communities. Learn more about this ministry at the Mission Moment after church on August 2nd in the parlor.

Mission Moment
The Parlor 300 Willits St, Birmingham, MI, United StatesJuly Mission Offering | Michigan Veterans’ Foundation | Dedicated to those who defend, protect and serve our country | Celebrating America’s 250th anniversary The Michigan Veterans Foundation operates the Detroit Veterans Center, a transitional housing facility and resource center, helping homeless veterans gain skills and confidence to return to independent living. This includes the specific goals of residential stability, increased skill level, increased income, and greater self-determination to obtain and maintain self-sufficiency. Veterans live in a safe, structured environment designed to lead them back into society through professional guidance and veteran-to-veteran reinforcement. Among their many services, DVC provides a Veteran Rescue Program, health care services, meals, clothing and transportation, legal assistance, and housing placement. They work with a multitude of human service providers, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies to meet the veterans’ medical, psychological, and educational needs. Come and hear Raeda Dabaja, Chief Executive Officer, tell us about this nonprofit, after worship on Sunday, July 12th in the parlor.
