Week of Events
Volunteer Opportunity • Judson Center
Volunteer Opportunity • Judson Center
Sanctuary has had a tradition of supporting Judson Center since 1924 when they began as an orphanage. Some will remember the “Applesauce Gang” that made applesauce for the children. Through the years they have grown into five regional offices in twenty-nine counties, offering services to families and children in foster care and adoption, autism, behavioral health, and those with physical disabilities. Our support can specifically contribute to a nurturing environment for a child abuse victim, job skill training for a young adult, or intensive therapy for a foster care child. This is an opportunity to honor our covenant values to participate in service and share the gifts God has given us. There will be a volunteer opportunity to help with Judson’s Holiday Wish program on Monday, December 12th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. We will be organizing children’s gifts for distribution to their client families. Anyone interested can sign up in the Welcome Center or contact Janice Rowe. Volunteers will leave from the church at 1:45 pm.

Discipleship Class
Join us on Tuesday, May 9th for our next Discipleship class. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall for dinner at 6:30pm, and the class will begin at 7pm. Will Lobb, our Creative Arts Director, will give a presentation on church music: Why do we sing in church? What types of music have been used in worship throughout the centuries? How has sacred music influenced Western classical and American folk music, and vice versa? What does the Christian music industry look like today, and how did we get here? All are welcome to attend. After this meeting, the Discipleship class will pause for the summer and resume in September.
