Book Study
Book Study
On the second and fourth Sundays of the month, we gather for a book study on Dangerous Wonder, a study about childlike faith written by Mike Yaconelli. Our first two sessions will be September 22 and October 27 so there is plenty of time to get on board. We will gather after worship in the Conference Room to eat lunch, pray, play and discuss together. It’s like going to youth group all over again! The paperback book is available for under $10 at this link.

Discipleship Class
Discipleship Class
What makes a Baptist a Baptist? The ultimate answer, of course, is simple: Membership, or regular attendance at a local Baptist Church. But there are all kinds of Baptist groups and Baptist churches! So, what are the “generic distinctions,” the “peculiar convictions,” the “specific ideals” that Baptists rally around and that make a Baptist a Baptist? What is the shape and feel of the 21st century Baptist movement? On October 8th, our Discipleship Class dinner and gathering will focus on Baptists in America beginning in the 18th century through the mid 19th century. In November, we will explore the Baptist movement from mid 19th century to the present and the challenges brought about by change and conflict. The goal of these sessions will be to allow those who attend to discover more about their Baptist tradition and how to better understand and practice their faith.

Mission Moment
Mission Moment
December Offering: Women's Center - Congolese Baptist Women's Association Each year, thousands of churches and individuals come together to promote and support International Ministries’ World Mission Offering (WMO), that God is using to transform the world. During 2024, global servants changed the lives of immigrants and refugees, survivors of domestic abuse, students, children in Mexico, and equipped seminary students through theological training. WMO gifts sustain global servants (missionaries) and mission projects in 70 countries. This year the Mission Team is requesting your support for the Mitendi Women’s Center Annual Fund that provides scholarships for 65 at-risk African young women and girls in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Women’s Center is a ministry of the Congolese Baptist Women’s Assoc that provides education and job skills training, reducing the risk of young women falling prey to exploitation and prostitution. They also learn hope for a better life through a solid foundation of faith to face their future. The project’s total cost is about $35,000 a year and $1000 will provide scholarships for 2 women and some maintenance costs. Your gift can help the gospel message reach these women in Africa. May we invest together in this incredible work God is doing around the world. Come to the Mission Moment in the parlor after worship on Sunday, December 1st to learn more about this mission.
