The Parlor 300 Willits St, Birmingham, MI, United StatesAffirmations, a LGBTQ+ Community Center in Ferndale, was founded in 1989 with a mission to provide a welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and cultures can find support and unconditional acceptance, and where they can learn, grow, socialize, and feel safe. Their goal was to advocate for acceptance and basic human rights for the LGBTQ+ community. Now, they proudly celebrate Ferndale, Michigan as one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in the United States. Join us on June 5th immediately following worship to learn more about Affirmations.
Bible Study
The Parlor 300 Willits St, Birmingham, MI, United StatesThe Tuesday morning Bible Study is continuing as regularly scheduled at 10:00 am under new leadership. Joan Trusty will be teaching the group, with a renewed emphasis on learning the background and context of the text to be discussed. We are working through the book of John, with the the February 14th class focusing on Mary and Martha, and then moving into the events leading up to Easter. Come join us!
Sanctuary Sisters
Everyone is welcome to join Sanctuary Sisters on Saturday, June 11th at 11:30 am as they tour Greenwood Cemetery. Linda Buchanan will guide us through the notable Birmingham residents buried there. Located just a few blocks north of the church on Oak Street. Water will be provided. Parking available in cemetery or on adjacent streets. Register by June 9th.
