The Parlor 300 Willits St, Birmingham, MI, United StatesPFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) provides support and community for LGBTQ+ people, their friends, and family. Monthly peer-to-peer support group meetings help families in crisis to dispel myths and stereotypes about sexual orientation and gender identity by encouraging dialogue in a confidential, non-judgmental environment. PFLAG advocates for equality for everyone through school bullying programs, outreach to communities of faith, and education about workplace non-discrimination. Join us on April 3rd immediately following worship for more information and to hear a member of LGBTQIA+ community share their story.
Sanctuary Sisters Tea
The Parlor 300 Willits St, Birmingham, MI, United StatesSanctuary Sisters is hosting a Friendship Tea on Saturday, April 9th in the church parlor at 11:00 am. All women are welcome to come together for a social time and learn more about the group’s new focus of women supporting women through sisterhood. Future events are planned on the second Saturday in May and June. Please RSVP by April 2nd.
Grief Support Group
ZoomAn online grief support group for managing loss. If you are struggling with a death, break-up, illness, unwanted life change or hurt of any kind, this group will guide you through the wilderness of grief, using the content of Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s book, "First Aid for Broken Hearts." A retired chaplain and professional counselor will facilitate it. Email info@sanctuary-church.com by April 3rd to register. Please provide your name, address, and phone number. The cost of the group is $15 which includes the book that will be sent to your home address. A link for Zoom will be emailed to you once you register.
