Mission Moment
The Parlor 300 Willits St, BirminghamHope Against Trafficking began in 2012 in Pontiac to provide a safe environment and support for adult survivors of human trafficking. They saw a need to restore survivors to thrive and reclaim their lives. At that time there were no long-term recovery programs in Michigan focused on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual issues as well as life skills and job skills development, which they now offer. Two important programs include 2-year rent-free housing and a Human Trafficking Overview presented to over 15,000 people. A certified, school-based curriculum on Cyber Safety and Security is also taught to K-12 children and youth.
